The metropolitan region’s proposed Metro Line-5 connecting Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan is another significant development project that will result in a significant increase in property values in the area. The 24.9-km elevated line will connect 17 stations, making it easier for commuters to travel between commercial, industrial, and administrative sectors in Thane, Bhiwandi, and Kalyan via rail. This connectivity is expected to significantly reduce travel time for commuters.

Kalyan’s strategic location on the Central Railway line makes it an essential junction for outstation trains. The renovation project at Kalyan station will involve building six new platforms for long-distance trains while current eight platforms will be used solely for local services. This initiative will result in faster train movements as well as the installation of route relay interlocking (RRI) at Kalyan station for signal system management.
